Global Talent Independent Visa Australia (GTI)
Recently, Australia announced a special class of permanent visas called the Global Talent Independent Visa Australia for highly skilled professionals. Australia needs to attract the best and brightest to work for it.
To be eligible for the Global Talent Independent Visa Australia, you must be a highly skilled worker in one of these seven target sectors:
- Agriculture Technology
- Space and Advanced Manufacturing
- Financial Technology
- Energy and Mining Technology
- Medical Technology
- Cyber Security
- Quantum Information, Advanced Digital, Data Science, and ICT
To apply for a Global Talent Independent Visa, the candidate will have to go through a two step process.
First, you will have to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI)
You can submit an EOI using the Global Talent contact form. Our registered migration agents will work with you and help you file your EOI. Though there are no application fees involved in submitting an EOI, it is the most important step in the GTI visa application process.
Once the Expression of Interest is filed, the Immigration Department will begin with their assessment of your EOI submission. If you meet the GTI visa parameters, then the Immigration Department will contact you or your registered migration agent to assign a unique identifier that will be used for the next step.
Applying for Global Talent Independent Visa
The next and the most obvious step after receiving the unique identifier is to lodge the application. You can apply for a GTI visa from both within and outside Australia, but there are several factors and processes that you need to be aware of.
Age: You must be over 18 and under 55 years of age. If you are under the age of 18 or if you are older than 55 years when you are applying for a GTI visa, you will have to prove to be of exceptional benefit to the Australian community.
English Proficiency: To show your proficiency for English, you will need an IELTS score with an overall band of 4.5 or more or a PTE score of 30 or above. But if you are under the age of 18, then no English language requirements apply for any candidate during the time of application.
Talent & Income: You will have to convince the Australian Authorities about your talents through documentation. You will be required to prove your prominence and achievements in your field of expertise. You will also have to show that you can attract a salary of AUD153,600 or above.
Qualification Requirements: You must be endorsed or nominated by an Australian citizen or a permanent resident, an eligible New Zealand citizen, or an Australian organisation with a national reputation in your field. There could be a health check-up requirement as per your status and finally, there is a mandatory police clearance that you will have to provide from the country or countries that you have resided in over the last 12 months.
The Global Talent Independent Visa Australia is a unique opportunity for highly skilled professionals in targeted sectors to contribute to Australia’s growth and development. If you meet the eligibility criteria, submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) and following the application process can pave the way to securing this sought-after visa.
